    EFSA ONE2022, June 21-24, 2022

    Dr. Lars Poulsen presented a poster titled "The COMPARE database: A Comprehensive Public Resource for Allergen Identification and Protein Allergenicity Assessment" at the EFSA ONE2022 Conference in Brussels. The poster was presented in the section titled Innovation in food and feed: keeping safety assessments fit for purpose.

    28th Plenary Meeting of the OECD Working Party of Novel Foods and Feeds, March 3-5, 2021

    HESI was one of seven delegations selected to present highlights of their activities at the OECD meeting. Dr. Lucilia Mouriès presented an overview of HESI PATB activities with emphasis on the committee’s international workshop “From Protein Toxins to Applied Toxicological Testing” held last fall and the COMPARE Allergen Database to more than 90 participants from 41 country delegations and observer organizations.

    JIFSAN 2017 Advisory Council Annual Meeting, November 1-2

    The committee was invited by JIFSAN to present on the COMPARE database. 

    WORKSHOP BACKGROUND

    Over the years, a number of tools have been developed to assist food safety risk analysts in their modeling efforts. These tools have been developed with public funds and are freely available at JIFSAN’s Foodrisk.org website. This workshop introduces stakeholders to these tools and provides examples of how they are used by the agencies to support food safety regulatory decisions.

    Speakers will include those who assisted with the development of these tools, those who use these tools to aid their analysis, as well as program managers who had the insight to leverage funds to facilitate the development of a public platform to freely disseminate these tools to interested users. These tools have been peer-reviewed and aid analysts in rapidly being able to assess food safety risks.
